Got a very irate e-mail at work today from someone I was helping with his search for work. I had sent an e-mail to him early in the morning and then had to rush out so I just did a spell check without proof-reading.

I thought my last line was OK: "Good luck on your job search."

Sadly, it actually read "Goose lick now you dog snatch."

How does that happen? A random string of letters, I could understand, recognisable but misspelled words I could also understand but to accidentally type every word wrong in a six-word sentence AND make it into a bizarre insult? I couldn't do it again if I tried!

You know... that's... wow, that's really impressive.

I am laughing so hard right now. That is PRICELESS. Did the person you were corresponding with understand it was an honest mistake?

Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] catalyst2, but I can't stop laughing. If you put that in a story nobody would believe you :D.

I once proofed a fundraising letter for someone and we both missed the fact that the 'l' was missing in the word 'public'!! Only one person seemed to notice - or at least commented.
