Ah, you must be better at it than I am - I only get a sentence or two into those "Always look on the bright side of life" things and then burst into laughter!
I always say to those cheerful optiwankers - that being a pessimist is great because I never get disappointed. When things go wrong (as they usually do), it is just what I was expecting anyway. When things go right, it is an unexpected bonus!
