..... Taylor Kitsch and Dejah Thoris is Lynn Collins, according to RevolutionSF. Neither are actors I'm familiar with but looking at their IMDb pages, both certainly seem to look the part.

Taylor is an amazing actor on Friday Night Lights. And I hear he was one of the only good things about Wolverine (although I haven't watched the movie myself).

No, sorry, not that John Carter but rather Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter of Mars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Carter_(character)), one of the first SF series I ever read.

Funnily enough, both of your comments about Taylor Kitsch were universally reported about him so he sounds like he's got the acting ability.
