Battle #1 - now that was *fun*

Went up to PAGS for my first game of 40K tonight.
Got the usual friendly greeting - which is nice - and an encouraging sign for the long-term. Dave offered battle - 1500 pt Tau vs my Ultramarines. He knew I was a rank amateur and so offered plenty of advice and coaching.
The battle was pretty even until two deep striking Terminator squads in turns 2 and 3 destroyed his entire left wing. That left him too distracted to claim his objective whereas my lowly tactical squad (reduced to 4 by this time) held mine. Result? Victory to me. However, Dave was giving me plenty of advice so I know I wouldn't really have won without that help. Cheers Dave, you're both a scholar and a gentleman.
