Julie Benz interview
Dec. 15th, 2006 09:31 amA short but informative interview at Sequential Tart. It is spoiler free so safe to read. I loved her answer about Dexter:
"What I love the most about the series is the perfect blend of dark versus light. The writers take you to some very dark places, but then balance those moments out with vulnerability and humanity. And I also love the moral ambiguity of the show. You find yourself rooting for Dexter and yet he's a serial killer — but a serial killer with his own moral code — the show lives in the grey and I like that ... that interests me."
I had also forgotten about her wonderful role as Layla Rourke on Supernatural - that was again Julie at her best with a mix of complex (and, to some extent, contradictory) emotions playing simultaneously. She has brought that to both the big roles I know her in - the incomparable Darla on Angel and Rita on Dexter, of course.
