I noticed the Dark Passenger reference. That's was a beautiful line. Very poetic and a nice shout-out to the books, even if that's all it is. I remember a lot of fans of the book complaining that The Dark Passenger stuff wasn't in the series, but now it is. This show is so tight!
Oh, one other thing: have you noticed how Rudy gets just a little bit creepier in every seen, until the very last shot of him driving the boat - the light hits him in such a way that he just looks like pure evil? That is powerful stuff. I loved him when Deb loved him...now I just want the information out of him that Dexter needs - what happened to his Mother? How does *he* know? And why did he set up this elaborate game?
I also want a showdown between Dex and Rudy, where they explore why each of them kills, and whether killers like them should follow a code like Harry's. This entire season has been about Dexter's self-discovery, and this is just the chance for him to decide if he really does want to be normal - by saving Deb because he loves her, not just because it's by Harry's code.
