I finally figured it out

catalyst2I worked out what it is about Greys's Anatomy that irks me - it's the VO, and not for the reason you think either. The closing VO can reduce me to tears most weeks, yet I feel cheated somehow and I've never quite understood that until tonight.
It's this - either I watched an hour and didn't get that feeling or the VO alone would do it, in which case, why watch the preceding hour at all? And there's the heart of it - either the progamme without the VO because the writing should be good enough on it's own or the VO without the programme because it's so poignant and moving.
