catalyst2In the video store (btw - why do I still call it a video store when there isn't a tape to be seen?) today, I asked the guy how all the special deals work and he explained. I thought I understood and returned with a pile of DVD's for the family. It came to much more than I expected so asked him again how it all worked.
This was the crux of the misunderstanding:
Guy: This is a new release so it costs $3.65 and ...
Me: But it says seven-day hire on it. Doesn't that make it a weekly hire?
Guy: No, no, the ones with ten-day hire on are the weekly hires and ...
Me: *walks off in confusion over who changed how many days there are in the week*
