Did I miss something?

I was completely confused by something in this week's episode of Heroes.


How did Sylar get from the middle of a rainforest covered isolated island at the end of S2e03 Kindred to collapsed in the middle of a dry dusty road in Mexico at the start of S2e04 The Kindness of Strangers? Did I miss something or do we just not know yet?

The girl who was with Sylar in the rain forest was Candice. It was all an illusion. He was actually in Mexico being looked after by some unnamed person. He killed Candice, tried to take her power - couldn't and escaped.

But wasn't Candice already dead before he escaped so the illlusion should have disappeared then?

We don't know yet. I was wondering the same thing myself, although I tend to let large gaps like that go when Zach Quinto is on my screen looking delicious in a tank top. :D

I did wonder if he took Candice's power and, rather than use it, he could only continue it. When he passed out, he lost comtrol of the image. Perhaps he was in Mexico all along, just a few kilometres from the road where he was found?

I don't get the sudden Sylar love I've been seeing lately. I've always thought he was icky. Qunito's serial killer portrayal is very disturbing enough to completely repel me, which is a credit to the actor.

I tend to agree with you there - while Dexter has a great deal of charm and tries very hard to understand what it is to be human, Sylar seems to positively revel in the killing. There seems to me to be nothing redeeming about him. I can't comment on his physical attractiveness really - the straight male thing makes that a bit hard for me - but I can't see many of those things that people seem to see as attractive (like, say, Dean Winchester's grin) in Sylar either.

Also agree with the actor's skills - Sylar would have to be one of the creepier serial killers I have seen in a long time.

Just occasionally, I think I can see the attractiveness in very attractive males - Baltar, Helo and Lee Adama spring to mind - but most of the time I just don't see anything. I guess it's not something I automatically look for but, once prompted, can see it.

That's my defence, any way, and I'm sticking to it! ;-)
