Excuse me?
May. 4th, 2008 10:46 pmWent on a mini-expedition to Perth yesterday and stayed at Hotel X (name changed to protect the utterly fucking clueless). I hadn't stayed there before but I think I should have been warned when I had to weave between the pool tables to get to reception, past the guy at the bar who appeared to be slumped over unconscious in a pool of vomit.
Anyway, thoroughly unpleasant stay in a grotty hovel of a room, with a huge amount of noise all night and then I was woken at 4:40 am by two people having a screaming match up and down the corridor, accompanied by multiple door slams and door hammering!
To top it all off, I checked out early at 8:30am, just to get some peace. As I checked out, I remembered that I needed to go to Location Y (name changed, blah, blah, blah). I handed over the room card and finalised the bill. Then asked "Could you tell me how to get to Location Y, please?"
Came the question "Have you checked out sir?"
Naively, I answered "Yes", upon which the reception clerk then said "I'm sorry sir, I can't help you. We don't supply members of the public with information, only registered guests." She turned on her heel and walked away from the counter.
That summed up my entire stay there. Never again!
