At least he's consistent.
Jan. 5th, 2008 02:58 pmHe may be a curmudgeon but at least he does it consistently - Alan Moore wants nothing to do with the Watchmen movie. He had said he would do this all along, and, after From Hell and LoEG movies were so different from his written work (and so much lesser too), I can't say that I'm surprised. V for Vendetta was much closer to the original (and a much better movie to boot) but it was still promoted in his name. This time he's acted earlier so his name won't even appear on the posters.
It is ironic because Watchmen will probably be the movie closest to the original and, if appearances are anything to go by, will be almost a reproduction of the source material. Mind you, I suspect Moore will never be happy with anything less than a word-for-word, scene-by-scene copy of his writing. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, except that those movies would never be made. Mind you, I suspect Moore's response might be something along the lines of "And your point is .....?"
