Movie Review #40 - Shaun of the Dead

Having had so many people rave on about this movie (see, nixygirl, I do listen occasionally), I really had to see what all the fuss was about. I loved very minute of it - so very British in its understated humour but still so very funny.

Movie Review #41 - AVP: Alien vs Predator

Clearly, I am a strange person because I managed to like this movie. There are a number of faults in it but it looked great and worked for me. Now, I did only view the extended version, so all the comments about "cutting away before any gore" didn't seem to apply. It was appropriately gory, imo.

Movie Review #42 - The 13th Warrior

Oh crap, another Viking movie. Oh, double crap - with Antonio Banderas in it! And yet, as a I watched it, I really enjoyed it - apart from AB, who I think is not very talented at all. However, so much of this movie was good that, as an overall package, this worked.

First check of the watch - every time Omar Sharif spoke but, when he finally disappeared, I never looked at my watch again.

Movie Review #43 - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Something with as much hype as this movie is always going to fail someone - nothing can be perfect for everyone, after all - but I was surprised by lack of connection to this movie.
