Day Three of Genghis Con

Sadly, we couldn't go back to the Con this morning as Darren's gout, which had been causing him pain since Friday night, really flared up and it was all he could do to walk to the car after we checked out of the hotel. We headed back home having well and truly got our $25 worth of value from the Con. I enjoyed it immensely and will definitely go again if (when?) it happens again next year.

We headed back to Darren's place to pick my car up.

Dawn of War

When we did get back to Darren's place, I did spend about 4 hours playing "Dawn of War", a RTS game for Warhammer 40K. Now I haven't played Warhammer 40k for years and haven't played many PC games either for a long while so this was a real surprise - and I loved very minute of it. The faithfulness of the simulation is quite amazing, right down to the incredible pounding that the Space Marines can both give and take and the chaotic Orc charges. I only did a couple of missions - and was caught out badly a couple of times by Killer Kanz supported by a couple squads of Boyz. I worked out after a while that if I outran the Kanz and then turned to attack the Boyz, I could get both on their weakness fairly fast. Great game though and I think I will be buying it very very soon!
