Now, before anybody squeaks, I know this really a mini-series but when I got it from the video library (btw, why are they still called that - this one only has DVD's), I thought it was a movie - and that's good enough for me!

First check of the watch - about 1 hour 25 minutes in - but only because I hadn't realised it was a mini-series until then!

Behind the cut as usual. )

I started to watch this movie with a bit of dread in my heart - I really like Robin Williams and I hate to see a movie star I like crap out. The reviews certainly said lots of bad things about it, particularly about Williams' performance. To my surprise I liked this.

First check of the watch - NEVER. In fact, I watched the movie twice in a row!

Review behind the cut as always. )

Just spotted this at Amazon: Dark Congress by one of the best Buffy Book authors going - Christopher Golden. Given that he wrote the best two books so far (The Lost Slayer and Pretty Maids All in a Row) I am very hopeful that this will be a great one!

A couple of things occurred to me:
1. I thought Golden said he wasn't doing anymore Buffy tie-ins (or was that tie-ins generally) because of all the hassles in getting books proposals accepted and then modified?
2. I thought the Buffy range was finishing after Bad Bargain?

Still, neither of those are complaints - more Buffy books are always good and more Christopher Golden-written Buffy books are even better!

The quality of this range of books seems to have stepped up with the last few releases really hitting the mark in my opinion. Go Ask Malice and Blackout were outstanding and Portal through Time seems good so far (I started reading it this week).

The one downside? The release date is August 28, 2007 which means it gets here about October 2007!

*sigh*
