If it was good that so many of the cast turned up, now Tim Minear turns up!

Cooler by the moment!

I don't often comment on political things, especially deaths but I will comment on Pinochet's death. I worked with some of the children from the Chilean refugee community in NZ (which, I gather, is fairly large because of the close business ties between Chile and NZ in the 70's and 80's). The stories some of those families had to tell were harrowing, not often about overt violence so much as the pervading fear of arbitrary arrest and "disappearing" that dogged their every step all the time. Even in NZ, many were still fearful despite distance and time!

The fear of the late night knock on the door or the ransom street snatch meant that many of these people lived very warped lives, courtesy of Pinochet's regime. The man did a lot of damage, whatever the cause, whatever the politics, to these people.

Spent a part of the afternoon at a Xmas function watching Santana - Supernatural Live. Video was OK but what was amazing was what these guys had it set up on (and no technical details follow because I haven't a clue):

- 1.5 m screen
- leather stadium viewing seats with foot rests
- centre mounted drink coolers between each pair of seats

Just sweet and relaxing and utterly deafeningly loud!

I could have had stayed all day - if it wasn't for the pesky thing called work!
