When I read a story like this, I always think "What kind of life do you lead when it takes FIVE DAYS for anyone to notice that you're missing?" Following soon after that is the question "What kind of society have we become that A) we let that happen and B) we aren't even concerned when it does happen?"

To paraphrase my favourite philosopher, "life happens to, on occasion, suck beyond the telling of it. Sometimes more than I can handle. And it's not just mine. Every single person down there is ignoring your pain because they're too busy with their own".

I don't think I have anything else to say - this kind of stuff depresses me too much if I think too long and hard about it.

The Unit

I have now idea why I started watching this programme - I suspect I accidentally hit it whilst surfing. Now don't get me wrong, the action bits bore me witless but the relationships back at base fascinate me. I do hope though that doesn't become a Desperate Army Housewives kind of thing because that would absolutely finish it for me. I have only seen the first two episodes but they were both interesting and well-done, I thought.

Kim Brown had irritated in the first few minutes of airtime she got but then I think she was meant to. I really don't like Molly Blane though - her need to control is going to come back and bite her on the ass sometime soon is my guess!

I am not sure but I think this is the programme that Amy Acker was going to be in but ended up going elsewhere - to Alias, I think.

*goes away to actually do some research*

Here it is - or the first I heard of it anyway! I wonder if Amy Acker was going to play the part of Kim Brown? Currently it is played by Audrey Marie Anderson but I do remember thinking last night that she looks, sounds and even moves a bit like Amy Acker. Holy crap - I thought I knew her (Audrey Marie Anderson, that is) from somewhere. She played Isabell Kramer on Point Pleasant!

Anyway, The Unit is my surprise discovery of the last few weeks and it definitely bears watching, in my opinion.
