Watchmen cast sounds OK, mainly

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the six main characters have been cast. Here are my totally superficial responses (because I don't really know any of these actors, except for the very last one):


Rorschach - Jackie Earle Haley - definitely looks as menacing and rough as Rorschach needs to look
Dr. Manhattan – Billy Crudup - looks to have that remote presence
Laurie Juspeczyki/the Silk Spectre – Malin Akerman - YES!
Adrien Veidt/Ozymandias – Matthew Goode - has the "clean" lines needed
Nite-Owl – Patrick Wilson - No, looks like a bad miss to me
The Comedian – Jeffrey Dean Morgan - INSPIRED!

So, it's not perfect but at least they kept bloody Tom Cruise et al. away from this.

One of my friends at work who's also an actor went for an audition for this movie, then they had him read for two (minor) parts. I guess this means it's being filmed in Vancouver. We seem to be the sci-fi genre capital for movies and TV series. ;)
