You're The Catcher in the Rye!

by J.D. Salinger

You are surrounded by phonies, and boy are you sick of them! In an
ongoing struggle to search for a land without phonies, you end up running away from
everything, from school to consequences. In this process, you reveal that many people
in your life have suffered torments and all you really want to do is catch them as
they fall. Perhaps using a baseball mitt. Your biggest fans are infamous
psychotics.

Ulysses? I think I managed about 20 pages and then my brain just melted down!

Yeah, I didn't even get that far before giving up. It remains to this day one of the few books that has won over my stubbornness.

Same here - I have forced my way through books I have hated, books where the subject matter was utterly repellent - but I couldn't get through Ulysses!

It will be forever taunting and not in the way that makes me wanna make another try at it. I just wanna hide it in the bottom of a big pile of junk and forget that it ever existed.

You're Anne of Green Gables!

by L.M. Montgomery

Bright, chipper, vivid, but with the emotional fortitude of cottage
cheese, you make quite an impression on everyone you meet. You're impulsive, rash,
honest, and probably don't have a great relationship with your parents. People hurt
your feelings constantly, but your brazen honestly doesn't exactly treat others with
kid gloves. Ultimately, though, you win the hearts and minds of everyone that matters.
You spell your name with an E and you want everyone to know about it.

Haha, I loved those books when I was a kid. I watched the miniseries over and over and over. Drove my brother crazy, I'm sure.

I think that's a more disturbing result than my "Catcher in the Rye"!

There was a British version of this series on TV in the 70's starring some impossibly perky chipper little git. I think it traumatised me to this day!

Megan Follows will always be Anne Shirley to me.
