Whoa - seriously not *cool*!

I was just working away a few minutes ago when my mouse started to get hot - I mean really hot, too hot to touch and then a loud BANG! Smoke then started coming out of the mouse and a very nasty smell poured forth. After emergency action, I found that one of the batteries in my mouse (it is one of those wireless keyboard/mouse jobs) had ruptured. Fortunately, once I hauled the batteries out and replaced them, the mouse still worked. I've never even seen an ruptured battery before, let alone had one do that to me.

Still, all is well now (apart from that damn smell, which hasn't cleared yet).

And the smell was pretty rank too - has to be if I can smell it because I have almost NO sense of smell.
