The toilet roll goes over, not under. If you get it under, you use the wrong side of the paper and it tears back-to-front! Seriously, what's wrong with you damned freaks?

In our family we always put the roll on with the paper coming from under. It never made any difference because both sides of the paper were the same, but the 'new, improved' Purex I'm using now (way too much information, I know) does have two sides.

However, I have cats who like to play with toilet paper rolls and not just the empty ones and they can't roll as much off with the paper coming from under.
