Dead Like Me

Finally managed to buy S1 of DLM on Saturday - for only AUS$31.87 (US$25.24). I have watched all but the last 2 episodes and I like it a whole lot. George's uninspired approach to life (and death) is wearying at times and yet there is that little spark that is ignited every so often - when she sees Reggie's "special" tree, when she finally "gets" Dolores, when she gets her strike in the office ten-pin tournament. It changes her from what is, after all, a fairly unlikeable character into someone I can feel empathy with (in many ways similar to Jaye Tyler of Wonderfalls, Bryan Fuller's "other" series but Jaye is funnier yet more frustrating in other ways to me). The stories are themselves reflective of a fairly bleak view of life yet there is always some kind of redeeming facet to every story. Great, great stuff. Now I just have to wait until they put S2 out cheap too!

I also scored the BSG mini-series for AUS$12-87 (US$10-19) - the last time I saw it it was AUS$32 - for a single frakking disc!

I'm off to watch that but first I will finish off the last 2 episodes of DLM

I have both S1 and S2 BSG on DVD already (and watched them a lot)- it has just been the mini-series that has been really hard to find.

In the U.S. the mini is included in the season one set.

Really? We have to pay extra here but it does have a very pretty cover - lookeee (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/226489). Shallow? Moi? Mais oui!

Wow! That is a nice cover. We're going to be watching the miniseries as our second event for our BSG Meetup group this coming weekend. One of the assistant organisers of our Browncoat meetup group started the BSG one. The first 14 people to join were all Browncoats - and ones who hang out together even if it isn't a planned event! :D

I haven't watched "Dead Like Me", but I do like "Wonderfalls", which I own. I'll pretty much watch anything Tim Minear is involved in. Am anxiously awaiting "Drive", as we all are.
