Laptop go *BOOM*

I got home last night to discover that *someone* (and you know who you are!) had spilled water on the keyboard. Most keys are still functional. Let me put it this way, on my laptop, my user name is now "caalys2" and "Deck the Halls with boughs of Holly" is now "DeckheHallswhbghsfHlly". Who would have thought that T, U, I and O were so important? Also, the spacebar - everything becomes so difficult to read without it!

Also 4 isn't working but I can always say "Please order 3 boxes. PS Can I have 1 more please?!)

Hah! Who needs a 4?

Wisdom and change

Calvin: I thrive on change.
Hobbes: You?! You threw a fit this morning because your mom put less jelly on your toast than yesterday.
Calvin: I thrive on making other people change.

Laptop go *UNBOOM*

Well at least I can type on the laptop after last night's disaster. Unfortunately, the "easiest" solution was to buy a USB keyboard - but something clearly went wrong in translation because I ended up with a cordless mouse and keyboard. Now the keyboard works fine but I think the mouse is going to cause serious grief. It keeps disconnecting in the midst of extremely serious business - how am I supposed to finish Spider Solitaire without a mouse?

Mmmmm .... too many vowels

Went out to Scusi again last night. Dinner this time was one of my favourites - but which I rarely order any more because it is done badly so often. Yes, I had Spaghetti Al'aglio E Olio. Hard to say but easy to eat when done well - and this one was. Just enough olive oil to keep the spaghetti moving and a nicely balanced mix of the chilli, garlic and parsley. The portion was a good size too. When I combined that with some very nice garlic bread, it was a particularly pleasant meal.

Mmmmm .... proper kebabs

Went out for lunch today (celebrating a major event - the penultimate day of work for the year) and went over to Mamaris Cafe & Bakery. Tucked away in a quiet little suburban shopping centre, this place is a little gem. I had the chicken kebab on rice with a green salad. Everything was just perfect - lots of tender moist chicken, in a wonderful marinade with a pile of rice and a clean fresh salad that complimented the chicken perfectly.

Probably the best Turkish food I have had in about 15 - 20 years, ever since that place in Christchurch, NZ (whose name I always forget) that I always used to eat at when I lived there.
