I've seen Max Perlich in a number of shows - always playing the same type of character. You know they originally intended for him to be Angel's mentor on Angel, right? For whatever reason he wasn't available so we got Doyle instead.

Yeah, I had heard that plan - that would have been so cool to have him on AtS. I gather it would have been a lot longer that Doyle's brief run, iirc. It was funny because I didn't really recognise him until he put on this hideous suit and tie that he bought - just like Whistler would have worn! (And reminding me of Angel's immortal line to Whistler in the sewers "I wanna learn from you .... but I don't wanna dress like you."
