Finally!

At the Golden Globes:

Best Performance by an Actor In A Television Series - Drama
Winner: Michael C. Hall

Just as a bonus:
Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
Winner: John Lithgow

Sadly, it didn't win in the other category it was nominated for (Best Television Series - Drama) losing out to Mad Men (is that the second time?)

I was so happy Michael won, but I admit to shedding a tear or two at his appearance. I had heard about his cancer diagnosis but his face already looks so drawn. He was humble and modest and lovely and I think he is a fantastic actor. Mad Men was terrific this season and I was glad it got the recognition because it truly is a masterpiece of a show. :)

Wait - what? Cancer diagnosis? Clearly I have missed something major here! When did this all happen?

I didn't know about this either. Apparently he had Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is a treatable cancer. He just finished chemo and he's better now.

It all seems so fast - diagnosis to treatment to recovery. If I hadn't read that comment from [livejournal.com profile] saltygoodness24, I would probably have been totally unaware of it.

Found this new interview with MCH where he talks about the cancer. Thought you'd be interested.

Thanks for that - much appreciated.
