Libraries were never this exciting when I was a kid!!

Fortunately not at my desk but we had a visitor this morning

Ummm, Steve, you might not want to come to work this morning. Why - well there's this *little* problem with your desk!

The snake made a run for it (can I call it a run if it doesn't have legs?) once the snake-catcher turned up but the snake catcher got him. Don't worry, the snake's not being hurt, it's just *really* pissed at being caught.

Snake-Catcher 1 Snake 0. The guy is from Marapana Wildlife Park and is specially licensed to do this stuff - sooner him than me!

A beautiful Dugite, I think Mr. Snake-Catcher said. Fair size too - enough to give you a *very* nasty bite! And so the excitement for the day is done - or I hope it is, at least!

WOW. Do you guys have this happen often? I would be so terrified!

No - in 14 years in Western Australia, I have only seen 6-7 snakes in that whole time, certainly never inside like this! I can't say I was terrified exactly - too busy getting my students safely out the door.

Wow, now that's a beautiful snake. *_*

Yeah, at the time I didn't really notice, but when I got to see the photos, that was exactly my reaction too.

[livejournal.com profile] catalyst2, do you know where the snake came from or how it got in?

[identity profile] catalyst2.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
No, no idea how it got in - there have a been a lot of bush fires recently so it may have been on the move because of that. Why the library? Not a clue!
