We went out for lunch today to celebrate my partner's birthday. It was a very pleasant day but a little rich so to finish off, I thought I would order some fruit salad. Having checked that there were no strawberries in there (because I can't eat the seeds), I sat back and waited. When it came, it looked very nice so I started to eat it. And there was an unusual yet familiar taste in my mouth - cheese. Yes, cheese! When I asked the waiter, she said that they always put cheese in their fruit salad. Cheese? IN FRUIT SALAD? Yes, apparently all the rage. It tastes like shit, imo!

I've had cheese on pears with mayo. My mom used to make that when I was growing up. Sounds gross to me now (the mayo part, not the cheese). I've never had cheese in fruit salad.

I'm not so sure about the mayo bit either but pears and cheese sounds OK - this was a rock melon/prince melon/watermelon/kiwifruit combo. It was really the watermelon and cheese that was a particularly bad mix.
