I have had it!

Gave up trying install Dawn of War II on laptop 1 and tried on laptop 2. After 27 hours - yes, 27 frakking hours downloading, it finally installed and launched only to get the RAM memory message - I had installed it on the 512Mb RAM laptop (and this game needs 1Gb RAM). AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Given that the problem is with the downloading on laptop 1, I don't get why I have to download the damned game - I bought the disc so the bloody game should be there ready to go, damnit!

I have now given up and will resign myself to having paid AUS$79.95 for a glorified drink coaster. FRAK IT!

I can so feel your pain. City of Heroes played great on my dearly departed desktop, and she only had 1g of RAM. The graphics weren't great, but I could play for hours on end. New SUPER charged laptop on the other hand will not play the game for more than half an hour with high quality graphics. Sidekick (nearly Super) laptop that is better than dead PC won't play the game at all unless it's in safe mode. Safe mode isn't as pretty, but at least I can play. Works on the SUPER laptop too. But I really miss having a good desktop machine.

If I had enough money, I think I'd buy a PC that was just for games - the biggest and fastest of everything it could need. Sadly, that's just a dream ....

Meanwhile, I've got a very expensive drinks coaster! :-(
