Movie Review #8 - Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday

This wasn't OK by any stretch of the imagination.

First check of the watch - about ten minutes in, then 11, then 12, 13, 14 .....



This movie just didn't know what it wanted to be. The opening is great - classic blood and snot and gratuitous nudity - just what I expect in Friday the 13th movies - and then Jason is dead. Now what?

This is where the movie goes wrong because it want to be something bigger and better but ends up delivering even less. It is a horror flick so "horror me"! No gore, really, except for the tent stake thingee and no startle-the-crap-out-of-me moments either. No wit, humour or charm. Just dreary cliche after cliche. In the end it is even less than a B-grade horror movie because it doesn't even deliver any of that genre's staples whilst trying better. And it isn't better either!

I liked the final scenes a little and the very last shot is a hoot!

the only frightening thing about that movie is that they made it, looked at it, and still released it.

Definitely - the best moment of the movie for me was the closing credits. Oh the blessed relief!!
