I had no idea

Yesterday I bought the Serenity: Those Left Behind HC. I had no idea just how much better it made the whole story feel compared to the runty little TPB for the same story. The whole story of Earth-That-Was, called A Brief History Of The Universe, circa 2516 AD, written by Joss, is great (and funny) reading. The conceptual art by Joshua Middleton and Leinil Francis Yu is just gorgeous. All 9 variant covers are here too, in full-size, and the Kaylee one just reminds me how damned good Jo Chen is at covers.

It may have been the most expensive thing I bought yesterday but it really was worth it.

You made it sound so shiny that I ordered myself a copy of the HB.

You will like it - the difference in full-sized pages, compared to the digest pages (I never bought the original comics), just brings out every detail and nuance of the artwork.

They shipped it today. I'll have it by the 11th. I'm so happy!

I would love to hear yout thoughts on it once you get it. Have you read Serenity: Those Left Behind before?

I've read it before, but damn it looks better in that hardback. I also don't have to be afraid of it falling apart which is always a bonus. I love the extra stuff too.

BTW - have you joined my [livejournal.com profile] firefly_xovers? We're new, but the word is spreading.

I haven't joined it yet, largely because I forgot to go and check it last time it was posted! But I shall go and investigate now.
