Goddard's getting noticed!

Drew Goddard's new movie Cloverfield certainly seems to be attracting attention of the good kind. Considering the genius of some of his TV work (Selfless anyone? - his first TV script ever!), I have high hopes for the movie. I think the name is a place-holder until they get the real name, btw.

Oh, I loved the trailer! It was so scary and mysterious. I love the title but I agree that it doesn't fit a monster movie -- unless the monster attacks happen in a town called Cloverfield or something.

I read somewhere that the production company's offices are on Cloverfield Street (Road, Lane, Avenue, whatever) and that's where the name comes from.

Ah. I still think it sounds kind of ominous, like "Welcome to beautiful Cloverfield, a land of utopian goodness...UNTIL WE SNEAK UP ON YOU WHILE YOU'RE SLEEPING AND RIP YOUR GUTS OUT WITH OUR TEETH."
