Dexter in The Dark Cover (UK)

I didn't like the original American cover for this book, but the UK cover (from Amazon UK) is much nicer


Now this is a Dexter-like cover - warped, slightly icky and slightly scary but all over creepy!


The decidedly un-Dexter-like American cover: all purple and pink and just not setting the right mood (or something!)



Plus it is out on 19th July in the UK, whereas the American one isn't out until September 18th, TWO MONTHS LATER!

I actually quite prefer the American cover. I just don't know about the pink at the bottom. They should have gone for black and white or...just something different. Dexter with bloody hands is a pretty powerful image though.

Sometimes we're so alike it's just a little bit unnerving - because that's exactly what I said when I first saw the American cover. If my preference is anything, I'd like to see something more like, (again, just as you said) the black and white covers of the first two books or even the same picture, just in black and white but with the only colour on the cover being the red on the hands. It actually took me a few goes to even realise that the hands were red, what with the pink and the purple, I just thought it was a funny skin tone .....

Not really. The background isnt styled enough, but the hands, yes. This is what they need to do with the cover art.
