Great BtVS S8 news
Interesting info over at Newsarama about the Season 8 comics.
It is now up to 50 issues and could "go a little higher" according to Scott Allie. My reaction? WOOHOO!
Subtitle will be added from Issue 6 which "will give too much away". Hmmmm ..... Speculation centers on the tie-in to Fray. Hmmmm .....
Issue plan now looks like:
Joss #1-4 first arc
Joss #5 1st standalone
BKV #6-9 Faith arc
Joss #10 2nd standalone
Drew Goddard #11-14 second arc
Unknown #15 3rd standalone
Joss #16-20 third arc
My reaction? WOOHOO!
Other quotes just send shivers up and down my spine (good ones that is because this sounds more and more like the way Joss used to run the TV series (all Scott Allie re Joss):
"He writes these manifestos every three months, telling everyone what's going on, where the series is heading," he said. "It keeps the writers on track."
"The writers have a certain amount of freedom," he said. "The writers pitch stories back to Joss, he makes suggestions and they go back and forth with revisions until the story is written."
"He has a planned ending, and certain beats he needs to hit along the series, but it will be flexible," he continued. "The series has lots of wiggle room. Still, there is a threat that will build throughout the series that will come to a climax at the end."
"Allie said readers will encounter some stories that seem to have nothing to do with the overall storyline, but he said to be patient. "They all enforce the storyline, even though it won't always be apparent," he said.
Every word I hear about this series just makes me more and more excited about it.
Again, my reaction? WOOHOO!

Now with possibly 50 - or more! - issues of Buffy, and who knows how many of Angel, plus Serenity and Runaways, I think I'll need a whole shelf in one of my many bookcases. Currently, the comics are taking up part of my Whedon-related bookshelf, but clearly I'll need more room!!

Definitely agree that "The Curse" was the worst of the lot - and sadly, that turned a lot of people off any of the new Angel stuff. I also got the Spike one shots - I liked all of those. I have to get "Spike:Asylum" ant way but it will be cool to see one of out very own Whedonesquers (Saje) get a mention!
I have grabbed the first Runways HC and am just waiting for the second (and third HC's) to arrive to buy them.
I also grabbed (in the not-comic line) the Angel script books - they were quite interesting too.
