Mayhem 2009 Photos .....
..... or at least what I managed to snap before my crappy camera bit the dust! I was really disappointed with the photos - there were so many gorgeous armies that I didn't get a chance to take any shots of, including 4 IG armies that were just works of art, a Nurgle Chaos marine army that looked like it could infect you at 30 paces and two Chaos Demon armies that just had to be seen to be believed.
I love looking at scenery on boards - the variety, the imagination, the simplicity and the complexity all combine into some wonderful creations, some big and some small:
A very solid building (bunker?):
A downed Tau Devilfish:
Refinery/processing tanks: I think I may have posted this one before but it really looks nice
Some really nicely painted buildings: there were two more on this board that were even nicer but those photos didn't come out, sadly. The assembly is good but it is the colours that I love
An objective marker: really detailed piece of work
Some individual models that really stood out on the boards:
This Valkyrie had a very eye-catching colour scheme:
A beautifully painted brass scorpion:
A Wraithlord: I love the base on this - a destroyed Dreadnought
And of course some very eye-catching armies:
A very unusual IG army, Adeptus Mechanicus-themed, with all infantry on tripedal legs:
A very nicely painted Sisters of Battle army with not a vehicle in sight but so very many figures:
An Eldar army whose colours had to be seen to be believed - but this picture does not do them justice:
Tim's (a fellow PAGS player) very nicely painted Chaos demons on a very eye-catching movement tray, set up as an altar:
Another very nice Eldar army with some great conversions in there (but sadly my camera had given up on the whole zooming thing by this point):
The eventual winner of the Best Painted army - Pete Platell's IG Tank company - not surprising considering this guy got 3rd place in the Golden Demon last year:
