Just pull over, you idiot!

Driving back from Perth tonight, I got stuck behind a driver who I assume was drunk - weaving all over the road, erratic speeds and generally crappy driving. I considered going around him but the car in front of me who did that nearly got run off the road by him. I would have pulled over and rung him into the Police but my mobile was dead.

I stayed behind him for a long while figuring that, at least if I could see him, I could minimize the risk. Eventually he was driving so slowly (30 kph in an 80 zone) that I went past him. He did exactly what I expected a short time later - went hurtling past me at about 130. He then did the next thing I expected of him - about 10 kms up the road, he had run off the road onto the hard shoulder, fortunately not hitting anything or anyone, and was standing next to his 4WD, throwing up.

You are an ass, mate!

Wow, that sounds scary. Ugh....why do these people get behind the wheel?? You have had some interesting experiences in the past couple of weeks, my friend.

My BFF drives drunk once in a while, and it scares the hell out of me. She doesn't do it shit-faced like the asshat mentioned above, but one time kind of recently, she was unemployed and going through a lot of stress, and after a job interview in the daytime, she went to a bar, had a bunch of drinks, and drove home. She told me she shouldn't have done that, but she had no other way of getting home. Um, then call SOMEBODY or get a cab. Or if you can't afford a cab or nobody is available, DON'T GET DRUNK. I told her I was worried about that behavior, but she acted like she had no other choice. I just don't get people sometimes.

Right there - that's all that needs to be said.

It's that time of the year, I think. Also Mandurah is known as a holiday town so all the craziness of that comes to us until about mid-January.
