Spiegel, that is, in the live-action version of Cowboy Bebop. I know it's all very trendy to hate him but I can actually see in that laid-back yet tensed Spike persona.

If I squint I think I can kind of see it. But I know all the anime purists would be so upset at his casting. It's kind of like the X-Men casting for Gambit. The character is just so damn cool and loved it's hard to fulfill everyone's expectations.

But who would you get - because it's got to be a big name to get the wider public in, not just the fans?

Spike's laconic laid-back style I can see and I think Reeves would do it well but anything more emotional or dramatic? Hmmmm, that's where the make-or-break issues lay, I think!

I think Reeves would be a good pick, like you said he's a big name and would bring in more money and bump the production value up.
