I finally figured it out

I worked out what it is about Greys's Anatomy that irks me - it's the VO, and not for the reason you think either. The closing VO can reduce me to tears most weeks, yet I feel cheated somehow and I've never quite understood that until tonight.

It's this - either I watched an hour and didn't get that feeling or the VO alone would do it, in which case, why watch the preceding hour at all? And there's the heart of it - either the progamme without the VO because the writing should be good enough on it's own or the VO without the programme because it's so poignant and moving.

You know why I don't like the VO in Grey's? Because of Meredith's whiney voice. There is just something about her that irks me...not sure what it is. Possibly the whole on again off again thing with Derek has made me annoyed with her...OK, come on writers! Make me like her again :)

I don't mind her voice although it can grate a little but I tend to ignore the perpetual on/off cycle. If I describe the series, it sounds like some appallingly predictable soap opera but it is much better than that at the same time - on the whole I like the writing (even if some elements - on again/off again Derek and anything named McWhatever detract from the overall experience).
