Damn it!

We just got burgled - sort of it. Turns out (after some quick work by the cops - thank you, Officers Lothian and Cross!) that it was one of the kids from next door. Nothing was taken but my partner's underwear had been .... ummm .... "disturbed" shall we say? In addition, he had left some underwear in our house from a previous burglary just up the road (they are friends of ours so she could identify that underwear too). Underwear shopping tomorrow!

We decided not to press charges if the parents agreed to get help for their son and that he both apologises for his actions in writing and promises to stop doing it.

I just hope that was the right thing to do.

I shouldn't laugh, but I had a cat that stole lacy underwear from people's clotheslines. We'd find it in the kitchen when she brought it in as her kill.

We had a cat who seemed to have forgotten one essential step in the kill - the killing! He would walk in, open his mouth and out would jump some terrified mouse, frog or small bird (he seemed to have a special attraction for whiteyes (http://thenewzealandsite.com/photo/1182/)) which I would then have to catch to get it back out of the house. He seemed to specialise in arriving with one of these "trophies" just as we were going out too.

Holy Shit!!! Wow...just wow. You guys totally did the right thing! That kid needs some help!

We debated between the "short, sharp shock" and the "supportive care" approaches and came down in favour of the latter. Only time will tell.

O_O

That almost sounds ridiculous enough to be a major plot point in a comedy. But in real life...totally creepy. Wow.

Yeah, the squick factor was high today and large amounts of underwear have been thrown out and replaced. There was a point halfway through yesterday when my partner and I looked at each other and burst out laughing because of the stupidity of the situation but then we kept finding more underwear strewn through the house and it became less funny.
