My gardening buddies .....

..... or should that be "My gardening bunnies"?

Spent a while outside today gardening and tidying up the pergola area. I wasn't on my own though.

Quality control on the weeding through random sampling:
Seasalt_weeding"
This was the last pile of weeds and I only got the camera out then but Seasalt checked over every pile of weeds thoroughly.

My other helper was more interested in sleeping:
Raincloud_sleepy
Those white things around her are the legs of the picnic table/chair. I moved them four times to sweep and weed the area. Raincloud wearily picked herself up four times to match.

It's so hard to find good help these days!

BUNNIES!!!

Did you know when I was a kid I loved Bunnies obsessively? When I was about 12 My aunt got a French Lop when her cat went missing, and she was such a cute little girl. She was caramel colored and was named Cadbury after the old Cadbury commercials where the Cadbury bunny clucked like a chicken.

Cadbury was married off when my Aunt's cat came back a month later. Norma had just moved to town from Eastern Washington after her divorce, and we think her cat went searching for her old home.

Your bunny pictures make me think about getting a bunny for our yard, but that would be expensive and it wouldn't get along with our cats. Maybe someday I'll raise a kitten and a bunny together.

I can't say I was too impressed with the bunnies at first but they have grown on me over time. They have such distinct personalities and really do check anything we do in the garden very thoroughly. Seasalt (the white one, not surprisingly) is the stroppy one. When I fill in their burrows, she stamps her feet in real annoyance.

I was filling one particularly large hole a few months ago and she was really pissed off. I was digging away when I felt something brush against the back of my leg. I didn't take much notice until it happened again. I turned around to find her digging another hole directly behind me and spraying me with all the dirt!

Because they are around all the time, I tend not to notice but they are just a little bit cute. *cough*
