BtVS Omnibus 4
Comic Book Resources has this listed in their March 2008 solicitations (available May 7)
This is where the Omnibuses (Omnibi?) get difficult for me. I had almost none of the early BtVS comics ("early" as in, set early in the BtVS timeline - many of these stories were printed much later in the run of the comics ...... never mind!) so the first two Omnibuses were easy to decide on but I have got a lot of the later BtVS TPB's (later as in ..... damn it, I'll shut up now!) - but not all of them.
If I am missing only one story, do I buy the Omnibus for just that or do I skip it and hope I can find that individual comic elsewhere? Frak it, who am I kidding? The obsessive in me wouldn't let me do anything BUT buy them all!
The blurb:
"VARIOUS (W/A)
on sale May 7
FC, 368 pages
$24.95
TPB, 6" x 9"
Volume Four of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus series concludes Buffy's high school career, wrapping up Season Three of the show's storyline. Collected in this volume are: The complete "Bad Blood," saga written by Andi Watson (Clubbing), the first attempt at making a "season" of the comics, where Buffy battles a sultry vampire who hungers for a lot more than blood; the first comics work by Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series writer Doug Petrie, and critically acclaimed artists Eric Powell (The Goon), Ryan Sook (Star Wars: Rebellion), and Cliff Richards (Buffy Season Eight #10), whose stories follow the Scoobies through their final year at Sunnydale High; and includes the first Angel miniseries, The Hollower, written by acclaimed Buffy novelist, Christopher Golden (Baltimore: or the Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire).
o The Buffy Omnibus books collect the earliest Buffy comics and are an excellent precursor to Joss Whedon's Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight series.
o This volume collects Buffy issues #9-11, 13-15, 17-20, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Bad Dog, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Spike and Dru, Who Made Who, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel: The Hollower."
I am particularly happy to see Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Spike and Dru and Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel: The Hollower as I have been looking for both of those for ages and not been successful.
The cover: Not really sure who the artist is, I don't know enough about comic book artists (other than Jeanty and Chen) to recognise them from their autographs (unless their autograph just *is* their name!). Whoever it is, I like the cover.
