Torchwood - Random Shoes

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - the dreaded VO is back! Having said that, this episode was OK even if did take the old "secondary character's wacky POV" approach.

My enjoyment of this episode was hampered a bit by my utter inability to summon even an ounce of sympathy for Eugene - no idea why, but he just didn't evoke anything from me, not even pity or dislike, just disinterest. That said, I quite liked the story in the sense that it was about the periphery of work like this - a bit player with a small part becomes ...... well, no-one, just dead in a very mundane way for very ordinary reasons. Just shows that it's not all about the big and the mighty.

What I didn't understand is how Eugene was able to become corporeal at the end and save Gwen. Very convenient, I will say, but just not coherent to the story, I thought.

That said, it certainly was a different story to previous Torchwood episodes and giving a very different POV - just the actor who played Eugene didn't work for me.
