On reflection, it wasn't such a good idea .....

..... to go for a bike ride in the torrential rain this afternoon. I thought we'd ride down to the servo to at least pump the bike tires. I mean, just how wet could we get in ten minutes? Apparently quite wet,as we discovered in those ten minutes.

Once we'd pumped up the tires, I thought we were wet enough already so why not go for the ride any way. I mean, just how much wetter could we get in the next half hour? Apparently quite a bit wetter - at one point, the water was running back out of my shoes because they had filled up. My waterproof jacket wasn't!

Still, a hot shower, change of clothes and a chicken & cheese toasted sandwich got me going again.

A few years ago, my sister and I went up to San Francisco for Chinese New Year. We'd had a beautiful day right up until we had to sit on a wall to watch the parade. Then it rained and rained and rained and rained... We were so wet that I had to take two baths that night to get the chill out of my bones. But it was a killer parade.

The bike ride was good but it was still a relief to warm up eventually.

It was a good ride and there was the occasional big puddle to splash through!

Coming from the Wet Coast of Canada, we're used to doing everything in rain or you would never go out. We do have lots of sunshine, but especially during the winter, it rains. On the other hand, not much snow. But riding a bike during a downpour would be chill-inducing. Hope you're all fixed up now.

The hot shower and hot food eventually warmed me up but there were times during the ride that my hands were so cold that I could barely move my fingers.
