I haven't had one in years ....

.... but I want this lunchbox! From Comic Book resources solicitations for July 2007 (about 2/3rds of the way down) comes the Serenity lunchbox! To be released on 16th September 2007,

I think I'm too old for a lunch box, but holy crap, I want it bad. I wonder what my office mates would think of me? They already think I'm quite odd. Actually....I'm the boss, so I don't give a fuck. I"M GETTING ONE!!!

I didn't mean I'd actualy contaminate it with any foodstuffs - just get it and admire it!:-D

I want one, too! And yeah, probably wouldn't put actual food in it, but it could go on top of the bookshelf with most of my Whedon-related literary works.

Yes, I think it might have pride of place in my hermetically sealed, dehumidified, air-conditioned display cabinet.

I joke, I joke - the seal's broken!

No, really that was a joke too!

I bought a Serenity action figure - "Final Battle Mal" - and at least one of my friends looks at me askance because I opened the package and took him out to get a better look! He's back in the package for keeping, but I don't see the point (other than monetary which is NOT the reason I bought it) of not enjoying the figure. On the other hand, if I actually used the lunch box, it would soon get dinged up and scratched, etc., so definitely a display item in my house.

A friend of mine is a comic collector - can't remember what titles he buys - but he gets 2 of everything including all the variant covers and then keeps one entire set in the covers. Don't get the point myself because, like you, I buy for the enjoyment, not for the monetary value. Mind you, whatever it he buys, he's got 500-600 bagged comics at least, in addition to the in "used" ones so it is a very impressive collection.

Wow! That is impressive. I'm running out of space on my Whedon shelf for just my Whedon-related comics!
