Now that was fun
I had my first full (Naval Battle Groups) game of Dystopian Wars tonight - and I really did enjoy it. I was very impressed by the 8x4 water board that Dave made - it looked so good!
I (CoA) did better on the set-up than in my practice game and caused Dave (EotBS) some major headaches from Turn 2 on. Both battleships played cat-and-mouse around some islands until Turn 3 when Dave broke and swung into the open. Unexpectedly, he went for two lowly frigates and blew them out of the water. In return, my battleship unloaded all four turrets and a broadside at Range Band 2 at him. Result (courtesy of some very nice dice rolling) - 27 hits and then rolled double 1 on the Critical Hit table to blow him sky high! WOOHOO! It was just mopping up after that! Fun game though and I think we won a few converts to DW too.
