I have been wondering about whether I should buy a region-free DVD player but I noticed last week that the remote for the current one has a PAL/NTSC button on it. I borrowed an R1 Smallville S4 boxset (only for testing, mind you - wasn't actually going to watch any of the dreck!) from a friend.

Lo and behold it played like a dream (and I didn't even have to press the PAL/NTSC button)!

I HAVE REGION-FREE PLAYER !EXCL!

Of course, the fact that I have had it for about 3 years is a tad embarrassing but still .....

Now I just need to buy the R1 releases for Wonderfalls, Profit, Miracles, Touching Evil and Sledge Hammer along with the R2 release of Survivors! Of course, there is the minor issue of money but we will deal with that when we come to it!
