Battle #57

This was the game I wasn't supposed to be playing since I just went along to watch PAGS' No Mercy tournament.

It got even worse because I have only ever played a static gun-line Ultramrines force (in various line-ups) but I had to use Dave's Tryranids with about ten minutes notice as The Ringer because someone didn't turn up. To top it off, I was playing one of the top tournament players in the state. I really didn't know what the strengths of the force were other than that they killed a lot of stuff in close combat.

Consequently, my strategy was to shoot with the shooty things and to chop with the choppy things! About half way through the fourth turn, I looked around and realised that he was in deep trouble. By the end of the fifth turn, I had won, 1 objective to nil with the other four all contested.

Result: win for me by one objective to nil

What I learned:
1. 'Nids are more fun that I expected.
2. Genestealers are way more fun when you are on the other end of the charge!

My W-L-D record:
40K: 37-14-1
Apocalypse: 3-0-1
Planetstrike: 0-1-0
