Heavy going today, not to mention very tired but I still managed 1308 words for a grand total of: TAH DAH! 50163 words.

WOOHOO! Finished! WOOHOO!

I don't think I can say much more about the story - it's not what I started with and there are essentially two incompatible versions within the same story. If I re-write it at all, it's going to be almost as big a job again!

Slightly slower day today - that 'W' thing got in the way. Yep, they pay me and actually expect me to work! Damn it! Still, I managed 1708 words today for a running total of 46738. So close. In addition , I also wrote some notes (only a few hundred words) on another path the story could take - of course that's almost all of what I have already written but that will have to wait until after I have finished NaNo.

Good day writing today - nothing to distract and nothing else planned. Consequently, I wrote 3011 words today. That makes the running total 42059 words. Of course, I find myself with a story which is nowhere that I thought it would be but it is still moving which is always good. Another good day writing tomorrow and the back of this should be broken. WOOHOO!

Courtesy of another 4 am start, I managed 1817 words today. Hard going but I got something out. I'm not sure about another 4 am start tomorrow though - very tired now.

A surprisingly good day writing today - 1906 words - but then this was the big reveal that I've had in my head for ages. Mind you, I feel like I've skimped a little on the build-up so I my have to fix that up - IN DECEMBER!

I did just realise that this makes my total 35205 words.

WOOHOO!

If I have a few days of really good word counts, I could even knock this off early!

Did nothing but write today so I got to a good word count - 3824 words.

WOOHOO!

Of course I have a strong suspicion that most of what I wrote was crap but I will resist the temptation to re-write. Very tired though and my right hand feels like someone stood on it.

A combination of sleeping through the alarm at 4 am, a really busy day at work and still feeling tired now meant that my word count was down today - 1364 words today. Not sure what it will be like tomorrow either - I've got a list as long as my arm (which, admittedly isn't that long) to do and I really don't feel like another 4 am start tomorrow - that all adds up to a low word count if I'm not too careful!

There's good news and there's bad news. The bad news is that I messed up the spreadsheet and manged to get my running total wrong. The good news is that I missed a day in the formula somehow so the total went up. Today I managed 2224 words for a total of 23159 words. I'm happy with that. I'm not so happy with the 4am starts but that's NaNo for you!

Well, I got to target today (and a little over) - 1815 words - but that wasn't fun at all. That was just a hard unpleasant grind. Still, my total is 16523 and we are a third of the way through so that's all good. I hope tomorrow's is a little more pleasant to get out there.

Great day writing today - even started early (6am on a Saturday!) and got lunch made for me so I didn't even have to leave the laptop. Also, having got through that transition yesterday, it feels like a big hurdle has been cleared and a whole lot of new ideas came flowing out. The next time I get stuck like that, I must remember to use notes to get past the bottleneck and then move on.

Total is now 13725, about 2000 ahead of target - which is just as well because I have got to go to Freo for most of tomorrow so I'm not likely to get too much writing done.
