More thoughts on Twilight (Part Two)
Adding to yesterday's thoughts about Twilight -
Another question occurred to me - if this is someone we have met before it could be someone in BtVS S8 couldn't it?
Any way, that aside, I thought I would get to the non-Big Bad candidates this time.
Riley - the military connection adds to the likelihood but Twilight's misogyny doesn't sound like Riley at all. I also think that Riley would do this directly if he was going to do it at all. He would also be very reluctant to work with demons in a common cause - too much deja vu, I think. Overall, I think it is very unlikely to be Riley.
Parker - move along, nothing to see here (as much as it pains as the planet's only Puffy (Barker? Barffy? Burker?) 'shipper *cough*)
Spike - not in a million years! (oh crap, knowing Joss, that just about guarantees that it is! :-))
Ethan Rayne - he is certainly supposed to be dead BUT and it is a BIG BUT, there have been any number of references to chaos and that is Ethan's thing. Hmmmmm ......
Other possibilities that I could think of seemed unlikely - Owen Thurman, Scott Hope, Holden Webster - so no luck there.
I am making what I believe is a reasonable assumption that it is not "third vampire from the right in group scene" or any crap like that. Also that Twilight is male.
Little Bads (in no particular order, btw):
Balthazar - dead
Gnarrl - see above
Sunday - my all-time favourite Little Bad but also see above, sadly
Doc - assumed dead but we never did see him land in The Gift and he did have considerable magical ability. Hmmmm .....
The Immortal - I don't know enough about him to comment one way or the other but he was certainly well the last time we "saw" him. He certainly has a reputation for the spectacular ..... It would tie BtVS S8 in nicely with The Girl In Question!
There's a whole pile more Little Bads but they are just that - they just don't seem likely to jump up to become the end-of-all-magic guy that Twilight seems to be!
Caleb still gets a strong vote from me, Ethan Rayne fits the profile well but the dead thing might be an obstacle there. No-one else really leaps out at me. I am near-certain that Spike, Angel and Riley are not Twilight, though.
